Overview

Your destinations are the Timbavati&Sabi Sand Reserves adjoining the Kruger Park. With 4 full days to look forward to, you’ll enjoy exclusive sightings of the Big 5 – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo – as well as expert guiding. You spend another 4 full days in Cape Town at the foot of one of the most recognisable mountains in the world; Cape Town was made for holidays. Home to city beaches, oceanfront cafes, shark-watching & more, the ‘Mother City’ truly has something for everyone.

Itinerary

Day 1-2

A Big 5 safari

Arrive at Hoedspruit Airport where you’ll be met & transferred to Umlani Bush Camp in the Timbavati Reserve. Check in for 2 nights on a full-board basis with game drives & guided walks.

Tucked away in the private Timbavati Reserve this lodge likes to introduce you to Big 5 country. Sharing a fenceless border with the Kruger Park itself as well as the other legendary private reserves, Timbavati is where lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard are all regularly sighted and your expert guides lead walking safaris as well as day and later afternoon 4X4 drives in search of them. There are only 8 rustic chalets, thus ensuring an intimate and personalised safari experience; for the more adventurous, the lodge offers a tree house which can be booked at no extra cost.

Day 3-4

Discover the Sabi Sands

Road transfer to Elephant Plains Game Lodge in the exclusive Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Enjoy 2 nights in a Rondavel on a full-board basis with game drives & guided walks. It’s a 2.5 hour drive to the most famous of Kruger’s private reserves: the Sabi Sand Reserve. Such a reputation is well-earned: Sabi delivers Africa’s most reliable Big 5 game viewing and is home to other sought-after animals such as wild dog and cheetah. Your hosts for the first three days are the friendly and helpful staff at Elephant Plains Game Lodge; your setting is next to a seasonal river complete with year-round waterhole. The lodge is home to two swimming pools, a spa and gym; activities are two drives a day plus spot-lit night drives and short guided walks. Day 5-8

Explore Cape Town & Beyond

After the last morning game drive you transfer to the Hoedspruit Airport & fly to Cape Town. Transfer to Mouille Point & to the Dolphin Inn Guest House for 4 nights on a BB basis. It’s a morning’s drive to Hoedspruit Airport but only a couple of hours to fly to Cape Town where you’ll be met and transferred to your apartment in Mouille Point. Situated on the Atlantic Seaboard close to the V&A Waterfront and Sea Point.Mouille Point is a seaside treasure, ideally situated within walking distance to major attractions such as the Cape Town Stadium and Green Point Urban. It’s also just a short taxi or Uber ride to Cape Town’s biggest attractions such as Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront and Camps Bay beach. For destinations further afield such as Cape Point, the Cape Winelands and the penguins of Boulders Beach, we recommend joining organised or private tours – ask us for recommendations and bookings. The Hop on Hop Off Bus in Cape Town is a must.

the Journey Ends

After a final breakfast in Cape Town and enjoying the city on the last day, it’ll be time to transfer back to Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight and the end of the tour.
