Discover the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta of northern Botswana. This area becomes a lush animal habitat during seasonal floods, and dugout canoes are used to navigate past birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles on waterways like the Xakanaxa Lagoon. On land, wildlife includes lions, leopards, and rhinos. Safari camps are common, with several dotted around large Chief's Island and the forested Mopane Tongue Peninsula.
Start the tour by departing early from Island Safari Lodge in Maun. Head north towards Moremi Game Reserve, about 80 km away. After about 50km, begin the drive along the buffalo fence, where you will already be able to spot some game.
Arrive in Moremi, and witness the rich and diverse fauna and flora this area is famous for. Spend the day exploring the reserve, enjoying the magnificent scenery and wildlife and photographic opportunities of a lifetime. Return back to Maun in the late afternoon, where you're welcome to enjoy sunset drinks and dinner at Island Safari Lodge restaurant.
