Lake Kariba, with its game-rich shores and islands, is an idyllic safari spot featuring mind-blowing sunsets; Hwange National Park is known for its huge herds of elephants; and a kayak trip down the Zambezi through the Mana Pools National Park will appeal to the intrepid traveller, providing close encounters with crocodiles, hippos and a host of other wildlife.

Itinerary

Day 1

Victoria Falls

On arrival at the Victoria Falls International Airport, you will be met by an Africa Zim Travel tour guide and transferred to your chosen lodge. You will finish your day with a spectacular sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.

Day 2

Victoria Falls

After breakfast we enjoy a free walking tour of the Victoria Falls. You will stop at various vantage points to view the falls and walk through the rain forest whilst witnessing the rainbows and feeling the spray and thundering noise of water falling into the gorge. The rest of your afternoon will be spent at leisure, where you can book one of many activities with your guide.

Day 3

Victoria Falls Airport to Hwange National Park

Meet and greet at the airport and the trip starts. You will be transferred by road to Hwange National Park, a 2hrs30 approximately drive south of Victoria Falls, to enter into the Hwange National Park. Hwange National Park is another exceptional attraction covering over 14,000 square kilometers of bush. The park is full of different species of animals to see and it’s the beigest national park of Zimbabwe. You will pass the villages and famous Hwange coal mine.

Day 4

Hwange National Park

Early morning game drives in the Hwange national park. Tea and coffee is served before the game drive or during the game drive. After game drive at around 9:30am to 10am you will have your full breakfast. It is the best time to see the big cats like lions, leopard and cheater. Late in the afternoon you will embark on afternoon game drive.

Day 5

Hwange to Bulawayo

After breakfast we depart for Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe with wide tree lined streets and is surrounded by beautiful parks. Within the city are many examples of early Victorian buildings which are maintained by the Bulawayo City council and landlords as heritage sites. We learn more about this beautiful country by visiting the Bulawayo National Museum, railway museum before or after checking into our hotel.

Day 6

Matopos Full day Tour

A full day will be spent exploring the area and some highlights include cave paintings, panoramas of the countryside at “View of the World”. We hope to catch a glimpse of black rhino and plains game, but this area is famous for its dense concentrations of birds of prey.

Day 7

Matopos to Great Zimbabwe

This morning after breakfast, we depart for Masvingo, The Ancient City, where we will be inspired by the Ruins of Great Zimbabwe built in 1200AD. The Ruined City of Great Zimbabwe is the largest and most significant ancient monument south of the Sahara and only second to the Egyptian pyramids. Here your guide will take you through the Acropolis, the Great Enclosure and the Conical Tower in the afternoon and one you will enjoy the sunset.

Day 8

Great Zimbabwe to Vumba Mountains

After an early breakfast we leave Masvingo and head through diverse scenery of farm lands, rocky outcrops and into the magnificent mountainous area of the Eastern highlands, also known as “The little England” of Zimbabwe. On arrival at the hotel you will be able to take in beautiful calm views and serene settings.

Day 9

Vumba to Nyanga Mountains

After an early breakfast we leave Vumba and head through diverse scenery of farm lands and into the magnificent mountainous area of the Eastern highlands to Trout back inn Nyanga. We will pass through the Mutarazi Falls. The afternoon is yours to explore or relax. Enjoy the hotel, stroll down to the dam to watch the rainbow trout diving through the waters.

Day 10

Nyanga Mountains

Full day Nyanga National Park tour (for own account) which experiences a village from the stone ages known as Pit Huts, or a visit to a Rainbow Trout hatchery set in the natural pools of the sparkling river.

Day 11

Harare

Soon after breakfast we leave for Harare and proceed through Zimbabwe's Capital City. This tour exposes an impeccably clean city, bustling with busy shops, wide open streets and warm hospitable.
