Itinerary

Day 1

Johannesburg - Kruger Park – Pretoriuskop Camp

We make our way on to the Kruger National and make our way to the camp of Pretoriuskop for lunch and check in. Accommodation consists of twin bedded bungalows with linen, bath towels and soap, Communal ablution facilities are used on these safaris, which have showers, toilets and baths separate for men and women. Depart for your first game drive at 15h00pm. Dinner is prepared by the camps restaurant.

Day 2

Kruger National Park – Pretoriuskop Camp

After two nights at the Belmond Khwai River Lodge you'll be flown by light aircraft to Belmond Savute Elephant Camp, set in the legendary Savute region of the Chobe National Park.

Often referred to as the elephant capital of the world, Savute, or Savuti as it is sometime spelled, is right at the heart of Chobe's big game experience. The camp is just metres away from a major waterhole which allows for superlative dry-season game viewing. You'll have ample opportunity to observe elephants at very close distances as well as a chance to see all the major predators - lions and hyena are very common here, and the area is also home to wild dog, leopard and cheetah. Spend two nights at this tented camp, taking advantage of its swimming pool to cool off during the day, and enjoying expertly led morning and afternoon game drives. Note that there is a big difference between Savute's dry winter and wet summer seasons - ask us for more information.

Day 3

Kruger National Park – Pretoriuskop Camp

The day starts early in the Kruger National Park with gates opening early depending on the time of the year. It is always good to be out and about as early as possible in order to still find the cats on the prowl before the heat of the day.

Breakfast is enjoyed at either your camp where you are staying or at one of the many picnic areas found in the park. After breakfast, we continue our game viewing, stopping off at water holes, following river lines, making our way back to camp during the heat of the day in summer October to April allowing you to relax, swim, read your book or enjoy a siesta. In winter we are able to stay out a bit longer May to September.

We depart once again three hours before sunset for our afternoon safari, returning to camp before gate closing time. Dinner.

Day 4

Kruger National Park – Pretoriuskop Camp

Another early morning hoping to spot the Big 5 either at the waterhole or still on the prowl before the heat of the day. We enjoy a breakfast either at a picnic spot in Kruger or at the camp of Skukuza returning mid-day for an afternoon rest before departing once again by 15h00pm for your last afternoon game drive in Kruger returning to camp by gate closing. Dinner.

Day 5

Kruger National Park – Johannesburg

The last morning's drive departs at gate opening time, enjoying breakfast in the outdoors, before departing at 10h00am from the gate of the Kruger National Park to Nelspruit to connect with your shuttle by 11h00am . We return to Johannesburg at 16h00pm or you can be dropped at Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for your onward journey.
